10th April 2010,
A day we will all remember.

"We reap what to sow"
True enough, we did.

Despite the countless rehearsals, the unbelievably large portion of our time dedicated to EDC, the tears we shed, the utmost effort we put in, the quarrels we had, the thought of 'giving up' that almost engulf our will to fight, the tension that rose up due to our low tolerance after a long school day w/ rehearsals, the problems surfaced again and again which almost stopped us from going further,
It doesn't matter anymore.
What matters now, and what matters most is,
WE DID IT.
A REAL BREAKTHROUGH.

The journey was not at all smooth sailing.
The journey, in fact, was a real tough one.
We wanted to give up.
However, we pressed on.
& I'm glad we did.

Yes, I'm hell proud of every single one of you out there.
As I stood at the right wing, watching every single one of the actors shine on stage, I thought it every single shit we took was worthwhile.
As I watch them giving their best, giving their all to project their voices, giving up on everything else just to impress our supporters and audience, I was indeed very proud of them.
Y' know even though we had little tiffs, on that very day, I truly felt our spirit. Our teamwork.
Who says ED is but a normal CCA in our school?
Now, you can proudly tell each and every one of them out there "No, we are not."

I stood there in the hall, in the make up room,
I saw how everyone worked together to make the concert possible.
I peeped through the glass door from within and saw our ushers and receptionists,
I looked up into the PA room and saw our sound crews,
I went onto the real stage and saw our light crews standing by,
I saw our SM and ASM slogging their heads off on the very day and not complain,
Nothing matters anymore.
Whether or not we put up a good concert, I was really proud.

Where is the love?
10th April, Saturday Matinee and Night.

Hey Ediots!

It's officially two more weeks to our big day.
Our maiden concert, our first public performance, our first exposure, & memorable experience.
After months of preparing, It's finally down to 2 more weeks.
All these while, we appreciate the help from each and every one of you. We really do.
Let's work together as a team & Let this show be a memorable one! :D
Most importantly, enjoy ourselves and let our audience and everyone enjoy their day :)
So, Let's treasure this opportunity and allow EDC to shine
Because, we know we can.

Actors, do not hesitate to give your best, because you know, and everyone else know that all of you can make it. All of you are good actors, good members.
Crews, do not hesitate to give your all for the show, because without you, nothing can be achieved. Literally.

(Yes, sec ones, EDC members are called Ediots in short :D)

2010 Welcome party cum orientation games falls on ~~29th Jan~~ 1st Feb 2010!

Brief summary: To bond our members, especially the secondary ones. And have fun at the same time, before we start to get real serious with our drama stuff and contribute the best that we can. CCA divided into 8 different groups, competing against one another. Winning team would receive a prize from our Secondary Threes, so do not hesitate to give it your all on the day and be as enthusiastic as you can. (It's probably the only day you can wreck havoc in school compound!) So guys and girls, come down with an open heart and enjoy every little bit of fun you can!

Time: ~~1.45 - 6.30~~ 2.15 - 6.15
Venue: Anglican High School
Meeting place: PAS
What to bring: Your enthusiasm + $5.
Dress code: Black Tee(Dark in other words), black shorts.
Ps. Pe shorts + unwanted tees are accepted too, just make sure its dark in colour, because they wil be wet & dirty games.

Note: Please bring another set of school related top and bottom, if not you can wear back your school U/ Pe Tee if you want, so you can change to a clean set of clothes before you go home.

Also, bear in mind that you will be provided with some light snacks at the end of the day, so do not worry. :)

HELLO EDIOTS !

Things to note, once again.

1. Wear ED tee for next ED session. Those who forget will be punished!

2. Wash your ED tees inside out, so you wont spoil the images infront or the words at the back. If you decides to handwash your shirt, refrain from scrubbing those parts too :) If you have to, dont scrub so hard lah. :D

3. When ironing the shirt, refrain from ironing those parts too, if you dont want an ugly ED tee.

4. Please do not be late. 5 min grace. So lets say CCA starts at 12pm. We expect all of you to be in PAS by 12.05pm.

5. Latecomers will be punished after CCA. This means that if you are late, you will have to stay back for a longer time to finish your punishment.

6. Remember to prepare your monologues for the coming session. You can type "Monologues", "Funny monologues", Female/Male Monologues", "Top 10 Monologues", "Dramatic monologues", "Teen monologues" etc in Yahoo. Spend some time searching because some of the monologues are hard to express. Find one that suits you and you think would bring your character out jsut by speaking a whole paragraph of words.

7. This thursday we will want you all to stay back about 15min after ED session.

8. Friday outing this week. Those who wants to come please come, because we guarantee it would be fun and yes, we should use this time to bond. Also, this friday, we have something urgent to do, so the more the merrier :) Please tell us if you are going on thursday ED session.

9. STRICTLY NO FOOD AND SWEET DRINKS IN PAS. You know what we will do if we catch you holding any of the two things mentioned.

Sec ones and twos, remember the wednesday CCA session that Miss Khoo suggested?
It is cancelled, for the time being!
So yeah, don't worry too much for the time being.
The reason for cancelling is because quite a number of lower sec members are busy on that day.
So perhaps it wouldnt be a good idea to put CCA on wednesday.
So wait for further notice :)

ENGLISH DRAMA THEATRE MAKE-UP WORKSHOP!

Look #1: A vampish slut! (On Leona)

Before Vs. After

more, with leona acting sexy. HAHA

Apply primer to oily areas of the face (nose, forehead), to smooth fine lines, hide facial scars, and to prevent make up from creasing.

Apply liquid foundation suited to your personal skin color.

Apply concealer under the eye to hide eye bags and to light up the eye contour.

Use brown foundation to outline jawbones, sharpen nose and make cheeks appear more sunken. For a sharper nose, draw two vertical lines along nose’s bridge using a brown liner. Blend it together with the foundation with a sponge to create a smokey brown shadow, which will let the nose seem sharper.

*Be more generous with theatre make-up as the make up would seem less prominent under the strong stage lights.

Apply loose powder all over face with a big brush to seal in make up and prevent make up running due to perspiration or smudging. (Don’t worry about applying too much loose powder as excess will fall out on its own.)

Apply eye shadow of chosen color on eyelids. (bright neon colors for a genuine slut, gives you the desperate PLEASE-LOOK-AT-ME! look)

Apply a darker shade around the eye socket with eyes closed. (apply darker shades last for a better effect and convenient removal)

Apply eyeliner on top eyelids.

Brush blusher of suitable color (BRIGHT FUCHSIA FOR A PURE SLUT! For an average slut, bright, attention-seeking= sexy) on the apples of cheeks. (smile to see prominent cheek bones)

Use big brush to dust away loose powder.

Crimp eyelashes to create sultry eyed look.

Attach fake eyelashes to eyelids using surgical glue.

Use lip brush to apply a brightly-colored lipstick.

Apply lip liner (optional) around the lip to prevent smudges.

TADA-AH. You are now a true blue slut.

Look #2: A sad old man ): (on Billy)(Brave soul)

Apply primer to oily areas of the face (nose, forehead), to smooth fine lines, hide facial scars, and to prevent make up from creasing.

Apply liquid foundation suited to your personal skin color.

Use brown liner to create creases along the forehead, sides of eyes, sides of mouth (laughing lines). Be sure to blend the lines with foundation to let it look natural.

Use another darker shade of brown to enhance the “wrinkles”

Draw a curved line under the eyes to create deep eye bags.

Use powder to seal!

Apply grey lippie to the lips.

Draw short vertical brown lines around the lip. Blend slightly.

Use white foundation on hair for snow white hair.

TADA-AH. You are now a Benjamin Button.

Look #3: Poor little kid with abusive parents, teachers, siblings, grandparents, friends, seniors, tuition teachers, pets, neighbours, EXCO.. ETC. (on Alaric)

Look #5: Scary gothic vampire which in my opinion highly resembles a scream rock band member. (On Nicola)

Apply primer to oily areas of the face (nose, forehead), to smooth fine lines, hide facial scars, and to prevent make up from creasing.

Apply liquid foundation suited a few shades lighter than your own generously. SPAM.

Remember to cover your eyebrows, pimples, facial hair of any sort! A vampire does not have random hair growth on his(her/its?) face.

Apply powder foundation of the same shade on face to look even fairer than Snow White.

Use liquid eyeliner to draw a pair of cute and curly eyebrows above where the real eyebrows are to give your face a permanent look of shock.

Apply white eye shadow directly above eyelids, followed by grey, then black. Blend carefully.

Apply white eye shadow under eyes.

Brush black powder on cheeks. (??) Not really sure about this step.

Apply black lipstick on lips (be careful not to get any on your teeth, you need those to suck blood! Omg hahaha I’m so funny)

TADA-AH! You are now a blood-sucking vampire.

Remember, in a play, make-up only spices up your character, its you, that is in control of your own character :)
